ChatGPT Ads adds bulk product campaigns and a Products tab
OpenAI updated ChatGPT Ads on 30 September 2026 so retailers can build many product feed campaigns and ad groups at once from a single spreadsheet, with the ad templates generated for them. The same update added product review tracking, wider conversion reporting in the API and separate account, brand and legal names. For UAE stores, it makes putting a whole catalogue into ChatGPT Ads a far smaller job.
What happened
According to OpenAI’s Help Center and the 30 September release coverage:
- Bulk product feed campaigns. In Ads Manager, advertisers can download a product feed template from the bulk sheet option, fill in campaigns and ad groups, and upload it. Ads Manager creates the ad templates automatically.
- Product review status. A Products tab shows how individual products are performing once a feed campaign is delivering, and the update added review status so advertisers can see why an item was rejected.
- More conversion reporting. The Insights API can now report conversions other than the one a campaign optimises for, for example optimising for add to basket while still reporting purchases.
- Separate names. Account name, the brand name shown on ads and the legal name used for billing and verification are now set separately.
- More markets. ChatGPT Ads launched in Southeast Asia and Taiwan and is now available in more than 60 countries.
OpenAI’s own guide to product feed campaigns says ads built from feeds “have been among the strongest-performing ads” on the platform so far.
Why it matters
Product feed campaigns already existed, but setting up many campaigns meant building each one by hand. A store with separate ranges, price points or brands can now plan the structure in a spreadsheet and upload it in one go, which is how most retailers already manage Google Shopping.
The Help Center also spells out a few rules worth knowing before you start. Feed items expire after 2 weeks, so OpenAI recommends a hosted URL or an automated SFTP upload rather than a manual CSV. New product feed campaigns can only target and exclude at country level. And the Products tab only shows a product after it has delivery data, so an empty tab on day one does not mean the feed failed.
What it means for UAE businesses
The UAE is still on OpenAI’s list of self-serve Ads Manager countries, so UAE retailers can use product feed campaigns today. Three practical steps:
- Set your feed up to refresh itself. Because items expire after 2 weeks, use a hosted feed URL that your store updates automatically. A one-off upload will quietly stop serving.
- Use custom labels to group products. OpenAI lets you add values such as a product line or margin tier in the feed’s ads metadata field, then filter ad groups on them. Plan these before you build the bulk sheet.
- Track the outcome you care about. With the API change, you can optimise for an easier signal while still reporting real purchases.
Note that the Shopify app OpenAI announced in September was not available to our UAE accounts when we checked in September, so UAE stores will usually create and upload the feed themselves. Our ChatGPT Ads guide covers what setup involves, which niches suit the UAE and what it costs here.
Frequently asked questions
Can UAE businesses run product feed campaigns in ChatGPT Ads? Yes. The UAE is listed for self-serve Ads Manager, and product feed campaigns are available in Ads Manager during the beta.
How often do I need to update my ChatGPT Ads product feed? At least every 2 weeks, because OpenAI says feed items expire after that. A hosted URL or SFTP upload keeps it current automatically.
Why is my Products tab empty? The tab only lists products once they have delivery data from an active feed campaign. OpenAI says rows can take up to seven hours to appear after delivery starts.
